Client Overview
Our client is a 300+ year-old financial institution and a global leader positively impacting the financial community – be it in trading and banking, investment, wealth, customer and third-party risk, and enterprise data solutions. As a part of the recent acquisition, their Global Fintech arm, the customer aimed to become one of the world’s largest providers of financial markets data and infrastructure.

The Ask
As the part of the acquisition of the Market Data Provider, the integration programme sought the target state of the combined Data Platform & Services across people, process, and technology, and the business case with a roadmap outlining the cost & benefit analysis.
Both organisations involved in the transaction had complex Data Platform & Services estate with on premise/cloud setup, technology & engineers dispersed across multiple geographies, intervened data integration points, different user interface/experience platforms, and multiple project delivery & support processes.
Our Process
Utilising iGen43 ‘Data Management Framework’ for Merger & Acquisition as the acceralator, we tailored the framework suiting the customer context by collaborating with the senior stakeholders. We identified the list of common synergy areas by across both the Data Organisations.
Using the framework, for each synergy area our team outlined as-is state, defined target state, conducted gap-analysis, and outlined both cost to achieve the end state and the resulting cost savings.
Our expert team included Fintech Enterprise Architect and Fintech Business Analyst and collaborated with the customer and various third parties and software vendors for this exercise.
Outcome
Our merger & acquisition framework-driven approach yielded clarity on the complex Data synergy topics and defined the target state for Data Platform & Services post integration across people, process and technology. Thus providing key inputs to the business case in arriving at the overall cost to achieve the target state and the resulting cost savings after the integration.
The customer was able to make informed budget decisions based on the robust implementation time & resource plan for onboarding data feeds and creating revenue data products to the global fintech market.
