Our client is a 300+ year-old financial institution and a global leader positively impacting the financial community – be it in trading and banking, investment, wealth, customer and third-party risk, and Enterprise Data solutions. As a part of the recent acquisition, their Global Fintech arm, is one of the world’s largest providers of financial markets data and infrastructure. With $6.25 billion in revenue, over 40,000 customers and 400,000 end users across 190 countries, the client is powering participants across the global financial marketplace.

The Ask
For the market expansion of their Index Business, the client initiated their proprietary flagship data programme using market leading data products. The primary objective of the programme was to deliver a single service for ingestion of the market data from both internal and external providers, mastering reference data, and applying and managing quality rules across the resulting data set to then make available by other parts of the Index business.
Our Process
Our first step was understanding their current platform capabilities and data management solutions through a workshop and discussions. We understood the current challenges across onboarding each data feed i.e. ingestion, quality management and mastering, and the impact on their delivery timeline.
Using our iGen43 Digital SAP lab, we conducted a number of pilot use cases and proposed the addition of the market leading SAP data management solution (SAP Data Intelligence) to their current platform. Subsequently we replicated the pilot uses cases within the client landscape, introduced new architecture capabilities and streamlined the delivery of onboarding complex data feeds through reusable patterns and components for data ingestion, quality management and mastering.

Outcome
Our solution provided an enhanced modern data platform marching towards a single coherent architecture where the data onboarding process became consistent, highly scalable, reusable and robust. Our solution model allowed the customer providing a predictable set of delivery services to the business community with improved data quality and reduced time to market, and getting greater data insights through pro-active data analysis.
